In Streaky Bay, the Blue Swimmer Crab season commences in late December to early March. Due to our cold water environment the meat is firm and our waters produce some of the best quality crabs in Australia. |

The sand crab is easily distinguishable from other swimmer crabs as it has two blood red/mauve spots at the tail end of its carpace.
The majority of catch is harvested between Streaky Bay and Venus Bay, generally between April - December. |
